Paracuellos, Barajas's closest neighbour
Paracuellos de Jarama is one of the municipalities bordering the airport site: from much of the town you can see planes taking off and landing. That proximity makes the taxi a particularly sensible option, because the journey is short and it is not worth leaving the car in an airport car park for several days.
Close does not mean in a straight line
The fact that the airport is next door does not mean you reach the terminals by crossing it: road access is via the roads around the site. What is more, T4 is separate from the T1, T2 and T3 complex and has its own access roads, so check which terminal your flight leaves from before you book. If in doubt, see which Barajas terminal your airline uses. The driver knows the access routes to each one and drops you at the departures entrance you need.
